On April 3rd, Art Base lit up Downtown Los Angeles as part of DTLA Art Night, bringing together a captivating collection of Black artists whose work was nothing short of stunning. Hosted at BASE (Caffè + Gallery + Studios) and presented by Historic Core, DTLA, and Social Sanctuary LA, the event served as a powerful reminder that every community needs a base.
Curated to spotlight creativity and culture, Art Base featured an impressive lineup of artists including @mogul_rob, @_unibelle, @emj_holliday, @jec3, @instascram, @wuzgooddtla, @nate_redmond, @tarzanofla, @doughickmanjr, @raven50mm, @alex_hutchi, @niftiq.art, and @mohleonofficial. Each artist brought a unique voice and vision to the space, showcasing work that was not only visually stunning but deeply thought-provoking and rich with emotion.
The energy in the room was electric. Sounds curated by @____dojo set the tone for a night of authentic connection and creative exchange. More than just an exhibition, Art Base fostered an inspiring atmosphere for networking, collaboration, and community-building—putting rising and established talents in direct conversation with other creatives and key figures in the art world.
This was more than an art show—it was a moment, a movement, and a meaningful reminder of the power of representation, culture, and shared spaces.
